The Historic Hattie B. Goodman Chapel, known as Shoreham Chapel, is located at the intersection of County Road 22 and North Melissa Drive, between Lake Melissa and Lake Sallie (map below). Shoreham Chapel is Non-Denominational and open to all. Since 1902, the Chapel has occupied a special place in the hearts of Minnesota Lake Country residents and vacationers. The Chapel was built by Fredrick Goodman, in memory of his wife, Hattie. Over the years, Pastoral duties were shared by several Ministers and Theology Students. In 1960, Rev. Gary Danielson began officiating and led the Chapel until his retirement in 2006. The William's Family Addition to the Chapel is dedicated to Rev. Danielson, to honor and appreciate his service and leadership. May he rest in Eternal Peace. Since 2007, Sunday Services are led by Rev. Tim Cook, retired Chaplain at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN. Rev. Cook is blessed with a great ability to communicate the Gospel and his Faith is contagious. The Chapel (seats 148) is ADA equipped and is available for Weddings, Baptisms, Dedications, Anniversaries, Funerals, etc. Rev. Cook is available to help with your ceremonies, as needed. The new Dodie Fercho Memorial Pavilion is also available for outdoor ceremonies. To reserve a date for your special occasion, please contact Brad Olson (218-530-0084) or Bill Schuett (612-396-3021). Donations to the Chapel are welcomed and appreciated. Checks can be mailed to Shoreham Chapel, c/o Bell Bank, 920 Lake Avenue, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501 Thank you.
